Hoping Kickstarter will allow me to take the Solar Rhyno to the next level.
- 1. The solar cells run the pump, no battery.
- 2. There are no moving parts.
- 3. The pump only runs when the sun is charging the solar cells.
- 4. The solar pump pushes water through the heat exchanger attached to your hot water tank on your house.
- 5. The sun goes down at night and the pump turns off, because the pump runs off the solar cells.
- 6. When it is sunny outside, the solar cells are charging the pump to push the water through the heat exchanger.
- 7. When it is dark outside, the pump is not working because the pump is not being charged by the solar cells.
- 8. When the sun is on, the pump is on.
- 9. When the sun goes down, the hot water that was made all day will be stored in your hot water tank for tomorrow.
I just need a little refinement and some major marketing. I would be willing to make the Solar Rhyno available as an award, but I don't think it is quite ready. I am still refining the heat exchanger and the pump. It took me about thirty hours to build. I have seen the Solar Rhyno heat a five gallon bucket of water to 140 degrees in one hour on a hot sunny day at about 90 degrees outside.
I drew the first Solar Rhyno in pen
and ink.
I built a the first Solar Rhyno in my
basement with styrofoam core board and 3m
Mylar. I had a photovoltaic array system
housed inside the Solar Rhyno.
The next project was built in my garage with 3/4 Inch plywood and wood glue. Housed in the wooden geodesic dome were mirrors and photovoltaics. I used high temperature adhesive liquid nails to secure the mirrors.
The Next project was made of 1/16 galvanized steel and welded with a wire feed welder. Pieces of steel were cut with a brake press and welded in my garage. Mirrors were positioned to fit with welded fasteners.
The most recent project has been built
out if 1/4 Inch Aluminum.
I have a local machine shop with a Water
Jet.
I built my most recent Solar Rhyno with 1/4 Inch Aluminum in my garage.

I designed the Solar Rhyno in the North Carolina Mountains for heat when we lost electricity in a Snow Storm.

I would like the opportunity to use
www.kickstarter.com to build another
project with better materials. I need to
find a better heat exchanger and I will also
want a better DC pump.
Thank you,
